Alia Vasilev
Coach
Alia Vasilev is an experienced professional in the field of mental health and
intellectual/developmental disabilities. With a Master's degree in Education and
over 10 years of experience, Alia has demonstrated a strong commitment to
serving and supporting individuals with diverse needs.
Alia began her career as a Qualified Mental Health Professional at the Texana
Center in Wharton, Texas, where she created and implemented treatment plans,
coordinated patient services, and taught behavioral skills to patients on a daily
basis. Her excellent communication skills and people-oriented approach quickly
gained recognition, leading her to take on various supervisory and leadership
roles throughout her career.
In 2011, Alia joined The Harris Center in Houston, Texas, first as a Service
Coordinator and later advancing to the role of Senior Service Coordinator. In this
position, she showcased her in-depth knowledge of the organization's programs,
roles, and responsibilities. Alia's ability to effectively assume roles for employees
who were out for extended periods, with minimal supervision, was particularly
noteworthy. Additionally, she played a crucial role in training employees on the
roles and responsibilities of the Home and Community-based Services (HCS)
program, ensuring adherence to Health and Human Service guidelines.
Alia's leadership skills and dedication were further evident in her volunteer work
at Anchor Bend Church in Rosenberg, Texas, where she served as the Guest
Experience Director. In this role, she developed leaders by overseeing a team of
volunteers, communicated direction, provided feedback, and assisted in creating
outreach plans to impact the local community.
Most recently, Alia has taken on the role of Support Services Team Leader at
The Harris Center, where she leads a team of 22 Service Coordinators. In this
position, she casts the agency's vision, supervises and trains staff, and ensures
that her team is equipped with the necessary tools to exceed their monthly
production goals.
Throughout her career, Alia has consistently demonstrated a patient and
understanding approach, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and
development. She is a John Maxwell Certified Trainer, Speaker, and Coach,
further enhancing her ability to develop and inspire leaders within the field of
human development. By incorporating her John Maxwell Certification into her
professional roles, Alia has been able to leverage her expertise to develop and
inspire leaders within the organizations she has worked for, such as The Harris
Center and Anchor Bend Church. This certification has undoubtedly been a
valuable asset in her career progression and her ability to positively impact the
individuals and teams she leads.
